A brand-new exhibit at Sarasota's Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium will give visitors a better understanding of challenges facing Florida's underwater environment and active scientific efforts to protect it.

"Florida's Coral Reefs," which opened to the public this month, showcases 15 different coral species found on the state's reefs. It also educates visitors on Mote's Coral Reef Restoration Program, which has been working to reverse damage to reefs in the Florida Keys caused by disease, rising ocean temperatures, and coral bleaching.
